External Sign Option

Photo External Sign

The external sign option provides seamless integration with existing or future destination sign(s) on the transit vehicle.

The external sign option:

Can interface to all major destination sign types. In addition to DRI's own TwinVision destination sign product, Luminator and Vultron signs are also supported. Either decimal or hexadecimal sign codes can be utilized. Customized interfaces to older destination sign technology have also been designed and implemented.

Creates a single point of driver logon. When the driver logs into our system both the route announcements and the destination sign display(s) are set simultaneously — it is not necessary to log into the sign separately. Having a single point of logon greatly decreases the amount of driver training and required input.

Allows greatly expanded destination sign usage. Once connected to our system the destination sign can be automatically updated/changed at every stop without the need for any driver interaction. This includes the main destination display, as well as Public Relations (PR) and route information. Without our system this would be impractical, requiring the driver to manually change the display for each occurrence.

Requires no additional hardware. Interfacing to standard sign types requires only a data cable and necessary Talking Bus® software — no additional equipment is necessary.
